I hate to say it
But my dreams are
Talking to me again
Nights ago driven awake
Straight as a stick
I wake from shock at seeing
A black rectangle box
Blue writing in capitals
Splashed boldly across
Four simple words
Ending in a question mark
This clear vision somehow
Frightens me more than
Being chased or gunned down
In those dreams I can always
Jump into the air and
Commence with flying away
I've been dreaming of those
Long dead who show
Themselves and remain silent
Those visions scare less than this
He asks me what's wrong
I tell him I had a nightmare
And explain about the box
My insecurities exposed
I'm naked in my mind
That doubts rights into wrongs
I have to ask the question
Being him, knowing me
He answers with a smile
And retrieves it for me
His actions quiet my crazy
As his arms grasp tighter around
Honey it'll be alright
What's left is the sound
Of our laughter
As it surrounds us
Nighty, night my sweets
I fall asleep complete.
