QUOTE:

Battered Paladin

You tell me now is not the time
And it's not the perfect place.
Tell me now my dear one
Whose feet have set the pace?

Patience is a virtue
Yet waiting's such a crime,
How long shall I be patient
Till I've wasted too much time?

I've seen the carnal spirits
Devouring your heart,
Leaving you in pain
Long after they depart.

Yet there I am again
Still here to cheer your sad,
Cleaning up a mess
You really never thought you had.

It's for you my heart is breaking
It's you I wish to save
But then again I wonder
Why I'm such a mindless babe.

I know you just can't see
The promise I could give,
Yet then again you're blinded
By the way you choose to live.

You know we're not so different,
Sometimes we're both the same,
We both don't stop to realize
That we're the ones to blame.

So in honor of my love
And deepest cares so true,
I take my leave of absence
In deep respect for you.

I can only mend a heart
When one seeks to end the pain
This time I guess I've lost
And it's driven me insane.

I'll always be your knight
Garbed in battered steel,
And guard you with my caring
Till I no longer heal.

Fadedspirit 10/30/2008

You are a warm and loving soul. But you need to stop cleaning up other's messes. It does them no good and it's too hard on your soft heart. This is a softly sweet piece tinged with a raw bit of sadness ...heart

Beautiful. How many women would yearn to be seen this way? Gorgeous. heart

all women are seen this way by somone...

thank you very much heart

Darlin' if ALL women were seen this way by someone, we wouldnt be here would we? But this is certainly the way to rejuvunate hope that some day we WILL be seen by someone this way heart

you may have a point but, you have to know also that as men we are taught not to express our selves like this (it's not very manly)so even if you are thought of this way you may never be told...strange, the one thing women want so much of we (men) are looked down upon for doing...

You're absolutely right and it's unfortunate. Personally a man who CAN express himself is the one I would rather be spending time with far more than spending time with Mr. Macho. A masculine body and outlooks is a joy obviously, but it's only amplified and enhanced by an open spirit and heart.

ah, what a complicated live we live. hard to find the balance sometimes. maybe it is time that women take the lead in this department i know all women say they want romance but, we have never been told it is ok or shown how to give it. so wouldn't it be fair to suggest women who want romance in their lives "teach" their men how to provide what they need? it is little things that can make a big difference so why don't women make the candle lit dinners instead of wishing he would do it. we can be taught and what is so wrong with being responsible for your own feelings?

I agree. I think it's quite easy "showing" men what we would like. But it all comes back to environment versus genetics. Too many men (and women for that matter) are raised in an environment that is geared towards locking up feelings. For a woman such as myself who runs on emotion, that's very difficult. When a person is actually raised that way, it's very difficult to modify their thinking. And that's a guaranteed set up for relationship failure, sad as it may be ....

hahahahaha absolutely Goddess. I think perhaps today I will be an Angel angel It's always good to play pretend once in a while!

And something tells me that we've all learned to pick through what we're being told in search of the truth, yes? Ah, the internet can be a good hard lesson as well as a treasure chest full of friends heart

Happy Halloween MsWiz

Thank you for your beautiful comment, I got inspired whilst watching a documentary on Muslim women ( who were quite radical and very Westernized) Despite the men trying to subdue these women they were the ones in control of Government offices, the media, hospitals and the courts.

Happy Halloween sweet Bonny~I would venture to guess that those Muslim women probably are a hell of a lot stronger than their men since they've had to put up with such an oppressive archaic society disregarding their gender for oh so long. This piece of yours clearly reflects their strength and yours. heart

Without meaning to sound condescending............Aren't we always strongest at our "weakest" times ? Most women, I think you'll agree tend not to bow under pressure. heart flowers

Not at all condescending Bon~we are generally stronger during in many ways. Let's face it. Can you honestly see a MAN carrying a child around in his belly for 9 months, give that child birth and then fight like a hungry lionness to make sure that child is fed and warm daily? *grin*

<<----teasing the Mingle Men heart

LOL, now that would be a sight for sore eyes !! The fist man to bear a child would contact the Guinness Book Of Records then take to his bed to await the day of the "happy" event, you know they would not have the stamina to go through nine months of morning/evening sickness, swollen ankles, preclampsia, not to mention continuous spots, sweating and the ultimate.................Make-up not looking right because of greasy and bloated face !!! rofl rofl

<<----has visions of a pregnant man begging the anesthsiologist to hurry up and "put him out -- 'get this thing out of me, its killing me!!!!'

Broadband Love
I sit and stare at the tiny icon
on my screen watching it intently
as I wait for my long distance love~

Oh how I yearn to see him
to watch mesmerized
as his sweet words flicker
like a speedy teletyped
missive across my screen~

With my little heart pattering
he types his sweet flattering
across the broadband lines
which flicker and define
the way this romance has grown~

When our airwaves are free flowing
and the traffic is light
I run to my computer
turn it on and in a heartbeat ...
I'm Juliet to his Romeo,
Bonnie to his Clyde,
Roxanne to his Cyrano~
I'm his sultry eyed Princess and
He's anything and anyone
I want him to be ...
... my dark savior ...
..... my redeemer ...
.......my man ...
.........my high resolution
...........Prince Charming ~

Who cares about
the lost art
of snail mail
or archaic dial up
when I can just
turn on my digital broad band
and receive with such clarity
and sweet worded sincerity
the http://love ...
of my long distance man.....?

I went outside the other day
Something hurt my eyes.
It was sunshine
Or that's what they say.

I needed things for the house
So had to leave this seat.
Oh, wow, the town has grown
Some of these shops are really neat.

Someone spoke to me as I was passing by
A voice, where did that come from?
I need to hurry back,
It had to be from my CD Rom.

I rolled the window down,
I felt a breeze
Who turned the fan on
And what's with all these leaves?

The grandkids came to visit
And wanted to go out to play
What? A whole hour away from the computer
That's almost like a day!

Something doesn't seem quite right
To spend so much time with this machine
There's LIFE outside
With air that's actually clean.

When I bought this little box
I didn't realize that when I pushed "on"
That it would become so much a part of me
It could make me a prisoner inside my home.

So like a child with it's first toy
At times I must put it away
Push this button till it says off
And go outside to play.

Oh this is SO true. SOOOOO true! This is really wonderful Cathy~heart I found myself at one point (like all of us do at one time or another) totally enthralled with a person I met on line and spent every single possible moment on this stupid computer corresponding, NOT living real life only to find that HE wasn't real either. Silly Wizard! I'm going to post the poem I wrote about it for you, I'm sure you'll relate in some way *grin*

This is a really good piece my friend-I'm very glad you posted it.heart

I want to love so deep that I am lost at sea
I am a child, I am a woman

I pretend to be a grownup as I play in my mind
I feel like soft silk and warm velvet when I am touched in passion and desire
I touch my sons cheek and I am lost in a cloud of contentment
I worry that I will never be in love again and will walk this earth alone,
I cry when I realize that I can’t write my own life script, it will all be ad-libbed
I am a child, I am a woman

I understand that you cannot change others, they will be who they are
I say fight for what you know in your heart is right even if you go down in flames
I dream of laying in contentment in the arms of my man, my warm passion, washed over by cooling waves of love
I try to be kind and see the best in others and am sad when I can’t see it
I hope that I can touch someone’s life in a meaningful way and that they will remember me

Well if it isn’t
Goodbye
My unwelcome friend
Arriving once again
Empty handed
On my doorstep
For another quick visit
Leaving me
Raw
Bloodied
Thunderstruck
As you walk away
Bloated
Fulfilled
Placated
Satiated
Arms weighted
With pieces of me

What a familiar
Face you wear
Seems like you’re
Always there
Standing at my door
Your insincere smile
The greedy anticipation
Of accompanying yet
Another unwilling
Participant
On your journey
To parts cold
And unknown …

Look at you
You useless bastard
Nothing but a
Glorified ferry master
All prettied up
Sneaking through
My door
Huddled like the
Coward you are
In the belly
Of my love
So Trojan Horse clever
Your sneak attack
And pillaging of my
Heart and soul
Quick and brutal

I can’t count the times
The cruel goodbyes
I’ve said
A slide montage
Projected
Through my head
Depicting
Photo Shop clear
Those I’ve held
Near and dear
Moved on
Long gone
A trip taken with you
Ending
In no return

I’ve let go
Of so many I know
Carrying trip vouchers
I would gladly have
Canceled
Revoked
A moratorium
Invoked
Your invitations
Unheeded
Unneeded
And removed
From the itinerary
Had I only known
That the airline
They had flown
With you held
Nothing
But a one way ticket

And this time
You’ve gone all out
Planning what’s
Meant to be
The big finale
The grand tour
The soup de jour
The Mother …
… Of all farewells …

Well **** off
Go to hell
This is one trip
You’re taking
On your own
I won’t be left
Alone again
With nothing
But the sound
Of farewell
Adieu
Hasta la vista
Ringing in my ears
Blood red tears
Lava hot
Burning fissures
Down a face
Distorted by
Pained
Disbelief
Bewildering
Questioning
…Questioning…
……Questioning...

Why
I’m forced
To say Goodbye
When all I want
To say is …

… Hello …
