Anniversary of sorts? If so, I'm sorry ...I hate those, too.

A heart felt wish from one sevice member Mom to another best of luck and strength to survive this. (((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))

I wish everyone that reads this would take a moment and stop something that you may not be aware of. At one time if you were a service member you could count on two things.

One your mother would be respected and to display her pride in her childs service to country did not subject her to harrassment, vandelism, intimidation and discrimination. She was treated with dignity and respect and if she gave the ultimate sacrifice she was revored, protected, and even assisted by the community in her old age. Same for elderly father's. Recieving a Gold Star Mother award was publiclly lauded; not shoved under the door like so much junk mail.

Second if a soldier had a family that sacrificed to be with him and support his often duty first demands they were given decent and respectable houseing and world class public education in DOD schools, and PX priveleges that actually meant something. Now they are forced to live in slums, sometimes in little better than flop house motels for months, and attend schools that should have been condemend. A VA loan is a joke and they are stuck buying bottom of the market houseing then being forced into bankruptcy by builder's that build identical house's new and buy back their defaulted morgages pennies on the dollar when they are shipped out to the next duty station or discharged where there is little or no non-military employment. PX's are rarely a savings over Walmart's and are getting fewer and father between as more and more bases are closed then handed over to corporations and cities who are making millions off of converting them for enormous profit.

What is even sader is when these families end up more or less destitute sometimes with profoundedly disabled heads of household that are forced off the base even when it does exist to live on top of parents that risk being evicted for giving them shelter or worse.

I personally don't know this lady but I have the feeling that she and her son are world class people and deserves the love that is echoed in this room to be echoed in the community at large. You have the power to do it with a letter, email, phone call, hanging your flag, and making your vote count for what you beleive in. Thanks. I believe in my Mingle pals and I believe in America supporting our military families when they know what is going on.

Just out of curiosity, why isnt this posted in the religious section?

The last thing I want to read when I come to this poetry board is someone prosletyzing his religious dogma to me.

And FYI, it takes alot more than a belief in an unseen entity to take back control from your addictions. If you doubt that, go talk to anybody who's been an addict.

so i have a new update on baby Ashlynn and here is the latest I have. I want to say thank you to evreyone who read this and please contiue to pray for this family. Thanks I will update again when I get them.



We did have a better day.. I took Ashlynn back to the doctor this morning and her lungs still sound clear even though she is a little congested.. Her heart murmur is still there but not as loud as yesterday and the blood in her urine just turns out to be a girly infection... You know some days I really get down and my faith runs on low but I truly feel God has answered some prayers in the last 24 hours...

I really believed last night Ashlynn was giving up on me !! She is such a strong girl and has proved that many times -- I am only human though and I try to prepare myself for the worst.. She has proved me wrong again and that is fine with me:)

If she is not sitting up in the next 6 months we are going to have to put her in a wheelchair also... That does not mean she will never walk she needs a little support for a while..I can handle anything as long as she is happy...

By next week we are going to be seizure free, heart ok, cold gone and no blood in our urine--and then we will be on the right track to catching up....I'll keep you posted
