Well, it's been raining all day here in the middle of nowhere. Great weather for cuddling, but my dog just isn't very good at snuggling back. What else is there to do on a rainy day/evening?

I live in the middle of nowhere, where I assure you, there ARE still cowboys. However, as twilight put it, they don't have internet access, and if they did, they wouldn't know what to do with it! They are usually wonderful people, but technologically lacking. Still, they look great in their jeans!

That's pretty much like me. It seems like a lot of people associate bi-polar disorder with homocidal maniacs, but the only person I have ever been a danger to is myself. I don't have the anger issues. Mostly its a depressive thing for me. When I do get manic, it's mostly being very hyper, needing no sleep, being irresponsible with money and sexual promiscuity. Thankfully, it's been a long time since I've been full blown manic. Mostly just get hypo-manic, where I'm overproductive and have a high energy level with little sleep. |

I don't think you'll ever really know for sure when your symptoms began. I was diagnosed in 1994, but I look back at my life and can see the symptoms back in the 1980's. They say it can be hereditary. In my case it looks like it is. My Father was never diagnosed, but he took his own life in 1981 and being more educated on it now, I can see the symptoms in his behavior when I was younger. There are some studies that say you may be born with the gene, but it may never manifest itself unless you are faced with a traumatic event or severe stress.
Also, there are different types of bipolar. I believe it is bipolar II that shows typically depressive behavior as opposed to a lot of manic episodes. |
