Oh great and wise JustAGuy...
Where do the socks the washer eats end up and why does the washing machine never eat two that match?
(I realize this is a "relationship advice catagory" so I'll justify this in terms of having better chance at a relationship if my socks match! LOL!)
I would like to add to this, if I may galendgirl?
Why is it only socks that get eaten? |

Ummm....no...it isn't.
There will still be times when the kids, even though they aren't at home, are going to run into trouble, or have some kind of problem.
You would still have to deal with their mother while she is trying to help them. Any mother who is truly a mother is going to help her children whether you like it or not.
She says once they're out of the house, they're on their own!
Sorry, double post.
Sorry JustAGuy, had to comment. |

Just want to make sure I understand, now that my kids are gone and on their own I'm no longer their mother?

Catwoman...
I had the same thoughts but at the age of 38 I was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer...It is never too early to start especially if it runs in the family..
It does run in my family, as well as cervical cancer. I regularly check myself and go to the doctor. About 2 years ago I had a hysterectomy (sp) because of numerous cysts and polups (sp), I also had several positive tests prior to the surgery. My doctor and I decided surgery would be best. |

As a breast cancer survivor I can't begin to stress the importance of self examinations and yearly checks..
And remember, even if you have had a partial or full mastectomy, check for lumps the same as you would for a self breast exam...
My mother is also a survivor, I was raised to do monthly exams (have taught my daughters as well) and as soon as I was old enough I scheduled a mammogram.
My son apparently also listened, because he tells his girlfriend all the time. Proudly supports breast cancer awareness, when asked why by his friends his reply is always the same...."we love the boobies, so we must protect the boobies". I kind of laugh, but he makes me proud.
 i like that quote.
So do I. THAT'S MY BOY |

TY I appreciate that. Deb and Merle got me through alot, and now I am ready to move on.
They do seem to be good for helping people through the rough spots, don't they? |

You should be proud of him as I am with my son...But my son is also very aware that men can get breast cancer too (which is on the rise) and because I have had it twice now he and his wife take turns doing the monthly exams for each other.....
All I know, before she met him she didn't think it was needed. He has since educated her, as well as his friends. THAT'S MY BOY!!!!! |

Not too much. How are you?
I missed a flip!
But I tend to miss a lot of them nowadays ...
And I missed this guy who emailed me 19 hours ago.
I'm pretty good.
How are you?
Ok, maybe you did miss a little.
I'm ok, tired but ok.
I'm kind of tired myself.
And smelly.
Got to wait for mom to wash out her hair dye before I get a shower though.
Maybe a nice hot bath, after I finish what I have to do of course. That sounds so perfect right now. |
