I wanted people who have done this before. I've never dated someone further than 10 minutes. i wanted to see if it's worked for others. Personally I don't think it's too far, but I wanted the opinion of someone who experienced this. It takes 30 minutes because of lots of side streets and lights to the person who asked why..

Even regional differences can vary immensely from even one state away. About twenty years ago, I went with my then-roommate to lower Michigan for a wedding. Getting the munchies, but not wanting to spoil my dinner, I went to the local convenience store to buy a box of potato chips. This is a common thing in Wisconsin -- a box containing two bags of potato chips, sort-of like a picnic pack. They looked at me like I had three heads. They had never even HEARD of something so "ridiculous" as a BOX of chips!

I guess it's a matter of opinion as well. But the south, like anything, is comprised of many, many different aspects. To generalize that it's all rural, small town, unsophisticated, blah, blah blah is simply stereotyping. No doubt, Atlanta is considered a southern city but it bears hardly any resemblance whatsoever to to the narrow-minded view most people have of what the south is.

Northern VA is different than the rest of VA, at least parts of it. Technically speaking, though, it is in a southern state so therefore, it's the south though it may not resemble your idea of what the south is.

As for you, Mr. Smartass, I didn't mean that I couldn't get more southern because I live here now and lived in Charleston, I meant that you can't get much more southern than Charleston. It is definitely a typical southern town.

if you really wanna find out,, go to mass,, then you will find out just how southern you are,, whether you want to admit it or not lady. i have been all over the country,, and have lost a great deal of my accent,, half my family you wouldnt be able to understand, but we all act alike for the most part. but up there,, no matter if you have a slight southern or a true drawl,, your a redneck.

yeah a bunch of rich snobby people who think their shyte dont stink,, but i got news fer em,,, it does. but there are nice rural areas around here. winchester is part of nva and its got more farming around and in it than most other places, manassas,,, places like that still have the southern charm to it.
