The purpose behind the nudity is to allow the maximum amount to closeness between you and the goddess and the elements. Nothing at all to interfere with the transfer of energy. Some people find this helpful and others do not.

While sexual arousal is to be expected at times I think ejaculating on the priestess might be a problem. Lol.

I can imagine. There is probably quite a bit of wicca resentment there as well. The "real witches" don't care much for wiccans.

Ruth it was just an Esbat Rite and men were skyclad. Thats all I have done. I also brought my rabbits for food. I wore a corset but I myself have never gone naked totally though I have seen a High Priestess totally skyclad. I did this ONE time and I am no expert. That is ENTIRELY my experience. bigsmile

I did not feel scared nor sexually aroused. It just was what it was at the time. I was a little nervous though enthralled in all all honesty. happy

That is so cool. I wish you lived in cali still so you could have come to our samhain ritual.

Right. We would need to ritually bring in Ketamine and gas you. Its too expensive. Normally we just strip you and hang you out for pubic ridicule. laugh No no. These rituals are done in a private atmosphere. No worries. I think if you are in a Coven you will feel better about it and if not, thats okay. There are people that I have never seen undress and it does not diminish their role in the Coven happy

I would do it under the right circumstances.

Skyclad is not for everyone. I have never gone skyclad before. However I have always wanted to work some sex magick. But you need the right partner. Or at least I would.

My guess was Paul was gay and the type that is very fearful of females and their power.

There is also indications that the term "virgin" actually was initially applied to high Coven and Pagan priestesses and the direct meaning was:

"one of herself"

Nothing to do with sex because female priests had sex with multiple partners during ritual. All this was suppressed. huh

Wow that's really interesting about the term "virgin".

I know St Augustine had had a lot of girlfriends prior to his conversion and suffered a lot of guilt about it after his conversion. He went way overboard in his condemnation of human enjoyment going so far as to chastise himself for enjoying looking at a piece of art.

Yes. It started with Paul. I believe it was St. Augustines "confessions" that sealed the deal in regards to the outlook on sex and women.

You mean in regards to sex? Yes its a big problem for many of them. I have met only two priests that I consider to be very holy men. Of course they are very faithful to the teachings of the traditional catholic church so I don't have contact with them anymore, but I wish I could.

Yes, they do. Yoga can have similar benefits. The poses also release poisons.

Massage therapy will help with that. I work on ppl all the time that have it in various levels of pain etc Its one of the few things that will help you relax & dull the aches & pains. Im quite glad i have the job that i have so i can help people feel better everyday. Anyway just a thought. My friends that have it get massages for it too& it helps.

This is so true and it's been like a year since I got one. Problem is that they are expensive. Not saying they're not worth it, but when you are on a budget it's a lot. I wish insurance would pay for them.

Thanks for this thread, Goof. My weight has been issue for me ever since I was started on steroids for my lupus. I had been skinny my whole life except for the two years during pregnancy and recovery from pregnancy. It was very depressing for me to suddenly be "fat".

It's really nice to read that I'm not "out of the game" because of this. flowerforyou

I think it's the Byzantine Catholics that burn it every Sunday Mass. I went to those a few times. I know frankincense is a popular incense in such rites and used a lot for Wiccans, but it is by far my least favorite scent.

Nag Champa is one of my favorites. My friend makes her own blend of loose incense every season and always gives me a bunch. I burn that and, of course, sage when I feel I need it. Always with the door open and the fan on.

Yes, I was actually quite annoyed that she didn't just cancel. I would have understood completely. People apparently (I found this out last night overhearing conversations) had been telling her for almost 48 hours to cancel. I could have just stayed home and relaxed.

This incense was frankincense which can be overpowering in any circumstance. TOO MUCH!!! grumble

Some Covens perform rituals and spellwork skyclad. Its certainly not unheard of. If someone is uncomfortable with that arrangement then they would have plenty of warning and Ive never had occasion to be forced into anything. But it does occur.

Yep.
