Set acoo browser as you default browser. IE is part of the Windows. It is there wither or not you use it. I use FireFox for most things. However, Hotmail doesn't like it so I have to use IE for sending any pictures on Hotmail.

Use linux...

Unless you play directx 10 games you can do everything and more than windows anyway... and it's free... and help is free... and you can do whatever you wish with the OS/Apps... linux, linux, linux.

Ubuntu if you haven't tried before, you will be impressed

the best way to fix explorer is to load firefox

microsoft will not let you dispose of explorer but you do not have to use it

unless you want to access microsoft site

I agree with installing firefox. You can't get rid of IE all together. Some sites do not support firefox and other alternative browsers which force you to use IE but firefox has an add-on called IE-Tabs which will allow these sites to work.

I use Firefox and love it, but since IE contains the infrastructure for browsing, you have no choice but to keep it.

The good news is that Firefox is not the magnet for virus' that IE is.

Use firefox. Set as default browser.

& why in the world do you need a toolbar? They are useless & just waste memory & space.

Firefox has a searchbar & you can manage search engines in it & also has numerous addons you can install & use.

Oh & its more secure than IE or any other leading browser.

I mean, what browser can you have an addon that give you weather updates & an animated radar IN the status bar of the browser? (visit url for pic of firefox with weather addon)

IE is integrated into Windows 98 or better. Can't get rid of it. Sorry.

You can use any alternative browsers instead and make them your default though. Using Firefox 3.0 myself.

And completely hose your system. whoa Not something I would advise unless you're pretty technically savvy, which 99% of computer users aren't.

Completely hose your system? whoa nah i ran xp about 6months with IE completely removed. And at that time I wasnt very savvy.
Anyone that knows how to follow directions can do it.
Dont say something cant be done or will fail just because most people wont know how & unless you've done it yourself.
