So I'll put it here...lol, since the majority here may possibly be women.

Trust me fellas, you don't want to be a part of this topic so go back now...lol.

Could there be something wrong with me (besides the PCOS I already know about) if my periods are now only about a day in duration? My last 4 have been like this. Its regular, like freakin clock work, but it only lasts between 12 and 36 hours. Could this be PART of PCOS? They had become regular around 20 years old, they lasted exactly a week. The last 2 years they've lasted a solid 4 days, which is still normal. But a day? Is that okay?

How old are you? I started menopause before 45. All kind's of strange stuff happened. Period's were short and irregular.

There can be no way its menopause, I'm only 23. It better not be, I still haven't had kids yet. Plus its still very regular, just very short lived.

MMhhh well a day is a little short..especially if they are usually 3days to a week..
I would get that checked out..my first impression was menopause..but at 23 you are way too young for that..
Are they pretty heavy periods when you do get them for one day?

Not heavier nor lighter than the 3 to 4 days I was used to the last few years. Well, about as heavy as the first day which is usually pretty mild. Heavier than spotting, lighter than second day on most women.

Don't lump us all together, some men do understand and don't think PMS is a joke. Women REALLY do have 'it' more difficult than men.

Thats so beside the point. Unless you have something to add to the conversation that is helpful, a man is unnecessary in this topic.

Yea most definitely get it checked out..that is a bit unusual..especially if it is not a heavy period on that on day..its like almost like u don't have your period at all.
It could be alot of things...not to scare you, but it could be anything from a fibroid to maby a hormonal imbalance of some sort...so get it checked out.

i must admit, this all is quite interesting...
i think cinderella's right: you should probably have it checked out.
another thing that comes to mind is a friend who was taking testosterone a supplement which he had to apply to his chest in the form of a gel and keep it on all day..he had to watch out that his girlfriend didn't touch him there because it would rub off on her and affect her too....do think there might be a possible cause for to be getting testosterone from somewhere by mistake or something maybe in your diet causing a hormonal imbalance?

LOL, no I can't imagine anywhere in my daily life where I'd be getting testosterone in my body.

your ovaries make the majority of your testosterone and estrogens. Oral contraceptives suppress all sex hormone production and we need testosterone as well as the estrogens.

It does seem like some type of hormonal imbalance... Something for your physician to look into ...

It could be number of things. Better get a check up at your OBGYN.

I haven't had one since 2005 (IUD)...it's been so nice not having to worry about it every month. LOL
