Even though I'm divorced I still think that marriage is one of the best things in the world!
I just need to lose the rose colored glasses next time and be more aware of how people change (or don't evolve!) over time.

Yes. especially for a Man. From start to finish, if you break it down, there is No, Benifit for a Man to be Married. With Woman being equal, and open Sexually, Why would you get Married

I disagree. My mom has been with my "stepdad" for over 15 years. He's been around longer and is more of a father than my real dad ever was. They never actually got married but he and his daughter are just as much my family as my mom and brother. To want to be with someone with nothing legally binding you to be together is stronger than marriage certificate saying you HAVE to be together.

Marriage is for life, presumably.
Term Marriage (like Term Life Insurance) might be a better idea.
Marry for 5 years, by contract.
In other words, EARN each 5-year continuance.
Just a thought, if you don't know that you can earn that devotion for 5 years, then promising marriage forever is a raw deal.

I proposed this idea to my friends with 10 year intervals and they all looked at me like I was crazy!

Okay...so WE are loony. At least we're good company. Forward thinking, IMO.

You know the sad thing is, that we live in a throw away time. When something get old, or stale, we just get a new one.
