I was alone and not lonely for years. Now that my brat talked me into looking at a relationship again, and having tasted a bit of the old good stuff, I do get to feeling lonely. I think I really WAS just fine for 12 years of not messing with relationships. Once in a blue, like Valentine's Day or something, I would feel lonesome, but it passed, especially when I would hear my friends' troubles with their love lives!!

I think some people view loneliness as a weakness, and don't want to be viewed as a weak individual.
I go through periods of being lonely. I believe you can be in a room full of people and still be lonely. It's much nicer to have that one person you can look at from across a crowded room and feel loved.

We have more ways to keep in touch now than ever before but many people are more lonely than ever before.
Maybe our computers and phones have prevented us from going out and having in person contact with others and that's left us feeling more lonely?
I am an only child. I like my privacy and alone time is essential for me. Still, there are times when I am lonely too.

You can be alone and not lonely. It's called liking yourself enough to not be bored with YOU.
We all are lonely at times and I agree.....people shouldn't feel like this is some horrible thing.

I don't mind being alone, and at times want nothing more than to be left alone.
But that's not to say I never get lonely, I think all of us feel that occassionally

most days I can deal with it
and feel pretty good,
but once in awhile

Yes, but even I get bored with myself after months and months of no one to talk to.

When I get lonely I just go out to the garage and work on stuff it cures it fast.
So yeah I get lonely for short periods of time
