did not know where to post this......but I have now had a few girls mssg me and then after talking to them a few times,out comes the I'm stuck in Africa and I need money to get out of here sob story.....is there somewhere to report this hienous activity and is there any way for Mingle2 to prevent it?....if not,I say we start posting scam artist's names right here....anyone else out there agree?...or am I just unlucky?

Yes I do agree that perverts, scam artists, and scum bags should all be listed somewhere where everyone can see

I am getting it from women that send me pictures tho......I think the first sign in spotting it is with bad grammar skills.....they spell out sentences the way it would sound if they were talking to you with an accent......they talk a bit.....send a couple pretty girl photos.....talk some more......they even will wait weeks before they ask for money....watch out my Mingle friends!

How common is this tho?...its happened to me three times in one month!.....so does Mingle deactivate their accounts if we report or do you have to investigate?.....otherwise you could have people reporting people they had a grudge against or just plain didn't like......

We investigate every aspect of the account being reported, yes. If the account turns out to be used fora scam, we permanently deactivate it.

I've been here almost two years, and I have received one or two of these here the entire time -- I have found this site does a much better job than others in regards to keeping scammers away!
Not that one won't sneak through here and there, but the admins are really good about zapping them once they've been informed of the problem....

Ok.....good....but now I am wondering that since I have sent these women a few pics that now they will be used against someone else somewhere else maybe......just makes me feel horrible really....

I agree with Lex, this site does a good job of keeping them out. I've had a few here but not bad. On another site I was getting 3 or 4 a day and ended up leaving the site within a month. I had over 80 blocked at that time.

Your best defence to these scammers is to stay on sight.Do not go to personal emailing.That is where they can get to you.They are getting smarter all the time.They can get into your files and all.Also they can get info of people you are in contact with.So please be carefull who you give your email to.

ooh,scammers are so easy to spot!.
all you have to do is ask 1 question and they fold
"how are you?"
their reply
"not good" or "sad"
and then it's time to have fun with them!
you: "why is that?"
them: "i am from the US and got married and my husband came to Africa to work (he was probably with a drug cartel although the scammer failed to mention that)and he was kidnapped and now i'm stuck here and need to get back to the us"
you: "REALLY? me too!"
see scammers can be fun....now go out there and get'em boys and girls!
