i say do what my mother did and put the kid up for adoption. i mean, why should the child have to suffer for the parents' mistake, ya know?

men: if you're not ready to be a daddy, keep it in your pants

women: keep your legs closed. don't let some horny bastard talk you into giving him your pie. if he tries to rape you, kick his balls

bottom line: be responsible.

To be honest, one of the main reasons I'm okay with abortion is the fact that overpopulation is a very real issue. Watch the news sometime in the next fifty years, it'll be poking its head out, I assure you.

And yes, I'm a strong advocate of educating about sex.

Unfortunately, the people who want no abortions are also the people who don't want sex taught in school.

That's correct...parental rights should always trump govt. interferance. Govt. is the reason why kids aren't responsible & don't have self control.

HAHAHAHAHA! You know what, just forget that last post, because you really dont know what the hell your talking about. lol. You acctually think it's the goverment's faul that kids are messed up nowadays? That's halarious. Well thank fu(king god you didnt have kids.

P.S.
It's not the goverments fault, it's the parents of the kids. DUH

WRONG again...as usual. It's all the negative influence with govt. sanctioning that is causing the bombardment outside the home.

Try thinking...if you want "change" that is.

Well geee... that means my daughters are the exception... Cause I'll be darned if I didn't override that 'sanctioning' with strong convictions as their father... I am responsible for my children's raising... that requires me to be spot on with my game... anyone that thinks the government has THAT much control deserves the brats they will end up with.

Get real and raise them yourself... Not as a friend but as a mother/father. It is YOUR responsibility.

do you all agree that upon conception the pregnant mother carries an embryo - not a fetus??

embryo - In humans, the prefetal product of conception from implantation through the eighth week of development.

In these first three months the embryo goes through organogenesis and develops body organs, its heart beats after the fourth week, brain waves can be monitored after six weeks, and by the eighth week all major body parts are present. At the end of the trimester the embryo has matured into a fetus.

From my Anatomy and Physiology textbook:

When the sperm fertilizes the egg, it's called a zygote - a cell. After 32 hrs., the zygote undergoes mitosis and becomes two cells, blastomeres. Then they keep dividing - 4, 8, etc. This tiny mass of cells are in the uterine tube.

It takes 3 days to reach the uterus. By then, it is a ball of 16 cells called a blastocyst. By the end of the week, it is implanted into the uterus.

It is now called an embryo until the end of the 8th week. After that, it is called a fetus up to the time of birth.

Hope I didn't bore anybody too much.

Part 2

The embryonic stage extends from the 2nd week through the 8th week.

In the early embryonic stage, the cells are a flattened disk with two layers.

By the end of the 7th week, all main internal organs have become established and the body starts to take on humanlike appearances.

While this is happening, it becomes more implanted into the uterus. The placenta starts forming too. Then the umbilical cord starts forming. That is when the blood passes between the embryo and the placenta and the embryo starts receiving nourishment from the mother. Now, at the end of the 8th week, it is a fetus.

I left what happens at each week out. Toooo long.

if the man has no say at all why does he have to pay child support if she decides to have to baby?

I think it's best to only judge when you know all the facts. There are plenty of female jerks who don't deserve to get child support, because they don't use it on the kids.

Women use it for the kids every time they pay rent or utilities or put gas in their car or buy groceries.

Or get their hair and makeup done so that they can find a new baby daddy.

Get hair and make-up after they pay rent, utilities, gasoline, groceries.

New baby daddy? You mean get on with their life?

And let their new baby daddy stay with them rent free, watching cable tv all day and drive their car around to bars using up all the gas and then bring a bunch of friends home to eat all the food to the house. What about the children?!? sad

Oh goody! Finally, a thread that is taking the turn to answer the question I asked NUMEROUS times in the other thread. happy

Btw - very good point (as well as countless other good points you have made in here Spider). wink

Winx, I respect your comments both here and in other threads. However, please tell me how you feel it is "equitable" when a woman exercises her right to *choose* to have a child, however the man would *choose* not to have the child for whatever reason he deems appropriate. Such is the case a woman has the right to abort a child...for whatever reason she deems appropriate.

However, the man is thereby forced (yes, FORCED, via government and the court system) to pay for said child?

Granted, *some* men do NOT pay child support...however, many men do...and they pay handsomely for it.

Please tell me how and why this is considered fair?

I never had and will never get to have kids. Because of that I have little respect for any man who doesn't tend to the kids he is blessed with. Any man can be a father but only the special men get to be daddies

I think mating is what creates the problem in the first place

If they aren't home then the father shouldn't have to pay child support. It seems like you are advocating forcing good hard working men to pay child support to women without children, so that the women can support dead beats who are just with them to take advantage of the women in the first place.

Breathless,

I only approve of abortions if they are used for rape, incest, the mother's life, or if the child is horribly, terribly disabled. That is why I want there to be a choice.
But..I have understood other reasons that women have had them.

The situation that you are describing is a tough one. I would hate a man if he ever tried to talk me into to having an abortion. I would be so hurt.

It does take two to make a baby. Even if a man pays child support, the woman (who usually makes less) is still paying more to raise the child than the man is paying.

I don't know if I answered the question exactly. There are several ways to look at it, and I can see both sides. None if it is a win-win situation.
