On a first date? A woman slept with you because you threw around some cash? Pfft. laugh

Yep, happens ALL the time - amazing, huh? Just take a peek at our welfare system. laugh

For me, I typically keep the first few dates simple. Based on those first few dates, then no expense is spared if a connection is made beyond that. wink

Well I cant speak for others of course and Im not claiming it doesn't occur. I just dont see it happening. Doesnt say very much for those particular women but if the men were somehow expecting something like that to happen, then it says even less about them. I can tell ya you could have spent half that much for something sure fire if you catch my drift. wink

Oh, I catch your drift...hence, my post keeping the first few dates SIMPLE! Weeds out the undesireables...regardless of how desireable THEY think they are! laugh

Yeah. I know I have had that happen when I was a little younger. A man might take me out and spend A LOT of money or do something weird I wasnt expecting and then clearly a form of compensation is expected of me. I just tried to get away. Thats really an awful feeling. mad

Yeah, try handling it from a man's perspective....ohwell

Take a woman out who "appears" to be a nice lady...spend a little money...and then...BLAM...she's all over you! noway

As my 12 y.o. son puts certain situations so eloquently: "Talk about the perfect YUCK...!" ill

Yeah I guess its hard for me to see it from the man's perspective because I have been on the receiving end.

I think probably the best idea is to keep it simple like you were saying because you also never know how someone might misinterpret good intentions. Im okay with a man spending money just so long as its HIM spending the money of his own free will and not with any intention to "get something back for it." Because then the reality is, he probably should not be on a date at all but soliciting prostitutes.

Personally I can't see a guy spending a $100 for a date in the begining especially if he has family responsibilites. For one thing it just doesn't cost that much to for a meal, or a movie, or a community event. If a guy is throwing his money around I figure he is a spend thrift and will ultimately run out of money. I would much rather have a guy who sees me often than a once a week or more like once a month guy who blows a lot of money. Now if he is making $80K a year spending $100 seems reasonable.

I know dates can add up quick but it depends where you are. You know some parts of the country are just more costly than others and incomes vary. $100-$200 can be average depending on what you do but not always of course. Plenty of less expensive things to do. Generally movie and dinner (the two classic date activities) you are looking at $100 at least if the restaurant is decent and you get wine or drinks.

Well yeah. The restaurants kind of strategically lay it out so you are forced to wait there and they are hoping you will have some mixed drinks before you sit down. Its all very planned out. I generally wont have any mixed cocktail drinks because they are so expensive and Im a bit of a light weight. bigsmile
