I basically come on here to post my poetry on the poetry forum. Down to earth mom who enjoys life and living it. Family is number one in my book and I do have five children. Three have graduated, and those three are on their own. I adopted a little boy with Down syndrome who certainly is the light of my life. I love musicals, dancing, celtic music, poetry, and kids. I'm seeking honest, down to earth, compassionate friends who have a great sense of humor. I do not smoke and I rarely drink. However, I love camping and just having a great time. I'm usually the instigator to most family pillow fights... SPLAT (oops water fights too... sorry couldn't resist) and I'd like to find friends who believe their cup is half full. After the water balloon I think you are on your way to a full cup!(optimists) I'm seeking FRIENDS ONLY and I think it's only fair to say so. If you are married looking for friends with benefits, move on. HONESTY is a must. I'd love a healthy and happy relationship, but in order to have that I need to give myself some time to heal from the past. I'm sentimental, and certainly a nature lover. I enjoy waterfalls, watching animals, and taking pictures. I LOVE atv four wheeling, horse back riding, dancing in the rain, and riding down the river. I'm a great fan of renaissance faires and I love Celtic music. I'm certainly a romantic at heart. Right now I'm going through life just enjoying the blessings of today, and I'm sure tomorrow will be full of fantastic opportunities.

A light shines upon an empty page
In my head there sets the stage
A vision of this love I know
Invented by my aching soul
Blurred, the lines to draw his face
His heart and soul I can only trace
Mere words... an honest, valiant man
Tender, humble, doing all he can
To make this world a better place
Ah, to see the smile upon his face
I do not know this man at all
I can't picture him lofty, lean or tall
He's more a light within my heart
Where I share my thoughts and hope while apart
Our two souls meet as I sit to write
Sharing myself though he's out of sight
He will relate to things I say
Serious, silly, or come what may
Romantic, sweet, adventurous soul
Love of life he'll truly know
A rolling stream, a burning ember
Two hands embrace strolling through November
Hearts ignite while minds connect
Souls rejoice, not neglect
Time well spent lighting an inner fire
Two souls meet, here sings the choir
Angels, cherubs, a heavenly light
The past forgotten, a new insight
Oh gentleman lost within a forest deep
Adventurous spirit its you I seek
Ghostly phantom, dancing silhouette
My hands drawn in a foggy room never to forget
His brilliant light as he pours his soul
Upon an empty page igniting all he'll know
With such passion, sincerity, and love
Flittering about my heart as a dove
I extend a hand to cross this space
Right here, right now, I try to face
A glowing fire which draws me in
Though I wish not to be burnt again
I pour out my soul with hope upon my glass
Let's drink our hearts contentment, sail fast
For the wind behind my words come and go
As the fog lifts so does this soul
Upon an angels wings I lift in flight
Surrendering one moment of myself to this noble knight.
Dancing in the rain, tracing my finger round his face
Revving up my motor as he and I set to race
Sitting in contentment to glance out at the stars
The world at our feet, our destiny to Mars
Ghost hunts, pillow fights, silly string setting sail
Heart shaped picnic baskets, our own intimate trail
Honest and true conversations that feel heaven bound
Where ever you are this is where hope is found

My Check List Of The Perfect Man For Me

I'm making my list
I'm checking it twice
Must be witty
Must be nice
Must be honest
Must be true
Clean cut fellow
Hm is that you?

Must be thoughtful
Silly at times
Have a love for children
Must not whine
Must have compassion
A tender heart
Must have some manners
Right from the start

Must be adventurous
Like four wheeling
Must be faithful
No double dealing
Must be romantic
A real teddy bear
Must plan for the future
Must show you care
Mustn't chew tobacco
Or smoke a cigar
Must be thoughtful
You know who you are you

Not looking for a player
Nope, just a dignified man
Who has some morals
Who will take a stand
Mustn't be perfect
Must communicate
Call me when you think
You're gonna be late

Must be okay
With messy hair
Cus I'll throw a pillow
Water balloon in mid air
Must like camping
Be a nature lover
Mustn't want to mold me
I don't like to be smothered

Must like intimacy
Feeling connected
Mustn't run or avoid
I don't like feeling neglected
Must meet me in the middle
In this garden that I grow
Knowing when to pluck a weed
Knowing when to sow

Must just be yourself
Not some silly mirage
Of what you think I want
To me that's sabotage
I'm looking for a fellow
Who has goals of his own
One who is honest
One who can make a home
A home SWEET home
When he is around
If you see my man
Maybe true love can be found
So this is my plan

He will need patience
I'm stubborn at times
He will need understanding
He will need to be kind
I hope he can stand musicals
Enjoy amusement parks
Most of all this man
Really needs to have a heart

Will most likely bring out
The very best in me
Have a love for music
A love for family
He'll be the ying to my yang
My Yogi in the park
Like holding my hand
Kissing in the dark

I know I will find him
When the time is right
For now I write this list
I hope it brings insight
I don't care if he's chubby
I just want someone who is true
So now can you tell me...
