Maybe friendship is a kind of chemistry, Whatever that’s supposed to mean. Maybe like hydrogen and oxygen mixing To form a cohesion that cannot be seen-- Can we compare friendship to water A mixture of chemicals in just the right parts Drawing people together in friendships As they share their lives and their hearts? Perhaps its just goodness and gentleness Discovered in the immersion of each other In gainful activities shared and pondered In a loving friendship like that of a brother. Whatever the glorious secret of friendship Let there be no careless mistake Everyone is lucky to have a friend A precious gift for friendship’s sake.
