NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE? PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK OF MY CREATION?
" DO You Cook "? "DO YOU USE RECIPE CARDS ?"
Let me introduce myself. I'm 'A R E' lol. That's short for - American Recipe Easel - (the original one and only one of it's kind). Let me tell you a little bit about myself and why I was created. I was invented back in 1988 by a really great guy. His name is Drew and he is Sylvia's son.
See, Drew had stopped by his Mothers home one evening, just checking in on her. She asked him if he wanted to stay for supper (and it wasn't liver this time). Well Drew noticed while she was cooking, she was using a Recipe Card to read the ingredients from. Well Drew noticed that she would pick the card up, bring it close to her eyes, read the recipe card, and then place it back down and go on to do the next steps in her cooking.

Well sometimes she'd put the card on the counter. Then she'd move it out of the way and put it on the toaster. Then she'd get it again, read it and she'd put it back down on the coffee maker. And this ritual went on during the whole time she was cooking supper. I mean we are taking like 30 - 35 minutes of picking it up, putting down, picking it up, putting down, again, and again, and again. Sometimes she would accidentally drop the card and it would float to the floor. So it would take her a few moments or two, to pick it back up and then straighten back up herself.
Well Drew thought " WOW, there has to be an easier way " for his MOM! It was so much extra work for her, to have to keep moving her recipe card from one place to another to another, just to use it.
So Drew went to work on a solution for this inconvenience his Mom was going through. So after supper, some thought, a dozen drawings or so, a few trial mock-up test models were built, and in a few months of trial and error, I WAS BORN'. And Drew gave me a name - 'A R E' The original American Recipe Easel. THE GOOD NEWS IS IT IS NOW AVAILABLE TO EVERYONE! What a real labor of love it has been.
So if you use recipe cards or share recipes with family and friends the ARE is a great gift. And you have a choice to either purchase an Original AMERICAN RECIPE EASEL 'KIT' that you assemble yourself RIGHT at home at the kitchen table and then install it yourself. The Gift Of Love !!
First, I'd like to urge everyone to pray for peace on Earth. When people are at war and conflict this disrupts everyone's life, destroys families and results in an endless cycle of killing.
Second, be sure to tell your brothers, sisters, parents, relatives and friends that you love them. Let those closest to you know that you care about them, that you forgive them for past transgressions, and that you still love them
Third, find a way to share your love with others during the Christmas season and Hanukkah. Participate in church or community activities, volunteer for a needy cause and lend a hand to help others in need.
Fourth, help a child, be a good role model. You may join an organization like Big Brothers to help mentor children and give children the benefit of your guidance
Fifth, if you are a creative person consider making your own cards, letters or other greetings or gifts of love.
Sixth, I'd like to urge everyone to consider how you may help the elderly, that are so neglected in so many ways today.
Seventh help homeless animals. There are many animals in humane societies and shelters which will die if they are not adopted. Send me a message!
