In general, I am very adventurous, open-minded, honest, respectful, compassionate, passionate, sensual, and intelligent. I enjoy hiking, canoeing, fishing, camping, cooking, going to movies, staying in - cooking a great meal - snuggling up on the couch and watching a good movie...actually, I pretty much enjoy doing most things and am always willing to try something new.

I have a very complex sense of humor but I've been known to crack up at slap-stick as well. People initially take me much too seriously...I'm much more laid-back!

One of the things I would like to do in my future is to travel abroad, perhaps Europe, Japan, almost anywhere really. I've traveled to most of the continental US, Northern Mexico, parts of Canada, and have sailed in the Bahamas on my grandfather's sailboat when I was young, but have yet to visit Alaska. That's one place I'd like to take my time to see. When I do travel I don't like to just do the tourist thing...I like to get to know the local people and natural beauty of the place. I'm a big fan of finding a great "hole in the wall" or the local gem when I visit some place new.

I also love the feeling of being free and I sure would love to find someone who rides a motorcycle, enjoys sailing, white-water rafting, etc. ...anything fast with a touch of danger would be exciting!

My political views are varied; I'm very liberal on some issues and very conservative on others. I don't believe in forcing my views and beliefs on others, but I do believe people have the right to express their views as long as that expression doesn't hurt anyone physically or emotionally.

I spent 20 years in the military (active and reserve Army and AirForce) and was stationed throughout the United States. My last duty station was in Spokane, Washington and that's also where I completed my teaching degree. I taught middle school for several years on the coast of Oregon...very beautiful!! I built a house there on 5 acres in the country. My dream is to someday have another home in the country. Nothing extravagant, just a comfortable home on several acres with a barn, a space for a garden, a few animals, and private enough to run around naked if I'm so inclined! (I'm working on getting my body in shape so I won't be embarrassed if anyone were to show up unexpectedly )
