If you are the mellow nice guy who avoids attracting a lot of attention to himself, takes care of his family, held a steady job, and generally passes on the alcohol you might be the one I have been holding out for.

I am not going to get in a rush about swapping addresses or camping on the phone but I would like to chat enough to at least see if we have common interests and values. Then lets meet and see if the chemistry is right. I am a person who knows what she likes so I am not going to waste your time if it doesn't work from either side. Pass no foul.

I enjoyed being wife, mother/grandmother (the kids in the pics are my grands) but they are grown and live on the opposite coast and I really don't want to start over with the really young kids. I want to be able to get up and go with out hireing a zoo keeper so maybe a limit on the animal babies. I have an aged parent that currently lives with me because economic issues and the fact that we get along quite well makes it a happy arrangement for both of us.

I now lead a modest life as a retired person/homeowner who volunteers and stays busy with writing, crafts, carpentry, and gardening. I am a pretty good cook and enjoy shareing time in the kitchen. I see the inside of church fairly regular and try to be a good but low profile example of what is Christian but rarely mention it except for I will pray for other who ask for support.

I don't need constant attention and I am not looking for someone to give me money but if you are into me I want to know it by your actions as much as your words. With me it is the little kindnesses that really count. We would probably do every day things together as often as doing the usual dateing things. I do enjoy a movie, eating out, or going to community activities. I am affectionate tactile person and would like to hold hands and snuggle when deeper feelings develope. I am not easy but I am a woman and enjoy what that means. Because I have always made a special effort to make holidays and times together comfortable and nice I hope that is where the kid in you shows up. If you are my friend you will find I am loyal and supportive; especially when the chips are down but like to have a little fun. In a significant other I would consider being a lover but I don't buy into FWB. Have a touch of Leprechaun in me so don't be surprized by a love note or a practical joke or a gift.

As far as you... I am not all that into your appearance as long as you are clean and can occasionally polish up for a special occassion. I don't really care what you do for a living as long as you are happy with it. (LOL as long as it is legal and doesn't exploit people.) If you have a disability or battle scars as long as it does not define you then I can or will cope with most. I have been keeping people's confidences for years so what you tell me stops with me. I just feel like few people get to the second half of life without some kind of story. I tend to prefer a guy my size or bigger that likes people, the outdoors, and would enjoy watching baseball on the field, going to a car or home show, or going to the water. Family would matter to that person. I used to really enjoy riding motor cycles on open road. Now days I would probably more enjoy mixing that with RVing or charity runs maybe fishing. Military service is something I respect. Will trow in most tatoos don't bug me but don't think long hair is for every guy.

I get my arthritis retired me a little young but I started early and planned well. I have always had an entrepinurial spirit and might come out of retirement if a mutual business catches my interest. I find computers intrigueing (lol especially the spell check feature when I figure it out so you computer people can send me your tips). Financially conservative, honest, and hardworking I have always helped make the living when I have made a partnership. Probably because I like the average person and will give a hand up if I think that is needed.

I figure if you have read this far you are looking for more than a casual date and hope this encourages you to e-mail me. I realize I am more of a writer than some but the attraction of playing the field never has been my thing and I am hoping for the person who is thinking of something more lasting and avoiding those who are happy staying single. If you are more about finding a companion, a friend, and a person to genuinely love you maybe the effort has paid off. I do see people find happiness this way.
