As far as Never Believing an Internet Profile goes - I don't think people deliberately lie or are dishonest in what they have to say about themselves, I just think that people perceive themselves in a certain way, which isn't how I would necessarily perceive them if I were to ever meet them myself. I think all of us has what might be considered a darkside to the other person we are with, whether it be, anger, gambling, bad kisser, crappy lover, alcohol, drugs, workaholic, laziness, bad parent, couch potato....whatever, and it might take a long time to see that in another person, and the question is, once you see it for the first time, can you tolerate being able to see it over and over again in that person...that is the true test !!!

Internet dating is sort of like those kids doing an audition on American Idol where I am Simon the judge and you are, hopefully, a sober version of Paula the judge. We don't need to tell each other in our profiles how great we are, how good we sing, how cute we are, and how full of passion and romance we are. Heck, once we walk into the room and get to know each other, we can probably figure all that out for ourselves, right ? and it is usually different than what we wrote in our profiles, don't you think ?

I have a tendency not to read profilea...because the more you try to tell me about yourself before I meet you increases the likelihood that you just may not be that way at all, tho, what really catches my eyes in a profile are the things that you like to do, after all, if we can't do things together, why bother, right ?

Internet dating is a series of tests - we must all pass the cute picture test first; then the good chatter or corresponder test; then the cute voice over the phone test; then the can they carry on a conversation and not sound like s wierdo test; then the cute in person and do they look like their pictures test; and then the good kisser test...etc..etc...
