So..... about me.

I like to make films. Not so long ago that meant running around with one camera and a group of friends, raising hell on the mean streets of Everett. One day, fingers crossed, it will mean commanding an army of actors and crewpersons to do my bidding on multi million dollar projects. "RAISE THAT CRANE" I'll say, and "Do it again, FAMOUS ACTOR, but with MORE FEELING." Yeah.

I'm a funny dude, I promise. Is this coming across? The humor is subtle, intricately tucked and woven until it is barely recognizable. But IT.IS.THERE.

I'm a pretty laid-back individual. My idea of a "party" tends to be a get-together with 4 or 5 trusted, good friends for drinks and rounds of Guitar Hero (or whatever game is hot that week). My idea of relaxation is a late-night drive with some chill music. Or maybe a flavored cigar enjoyed by torchlight (Forserious, I've got some of those Tiki Torches in my backyard, I'm not just trying to write visually here!)

What I'm looking for is someone with a good sense of humor, and who can be (dare I say?) a little bit nerdy/geeky at times. Someone who's intelligent, but doesn't feel the need to take life too seriously every minute of every day. Sarcasm is totally fine, as I've also got a sarcastic quality that I can choose to "bring out" if the situation calls for it. Much like a kung fu master might choose to "bring out" his 'Mantis' or 'Snake' style in favor of his tried-and-true 'Eagle's Claw'.

That analogy is awful whether you dig kung-fu movies or not. Sorry about that.

Some other stuff about me:

My current favorite films are "The Fountain", "Oldboy", and "In the Mood for Love". I try to keep my tastes open, and enjoy both the awe-inspiring and the laughably terrible. If a film leaves me shaken and emotionally drained... I'm happy. If a film has me rolling over how awful it is... I'm also happy. I'm also pretty open toward music, though I tend mostly toward Trip-Hop (Portishead, Slowpho, Massive Attack) or generally anything with a chill, almost loungey-vibe.

I also like me some video-games, though I enjoy them a lot more with other people than I do just playing by myself. Any system, any genre, doesn't matter. Favorites include Shadow of the Colossus, the Silent Hill series. Epic RPG's and genuinely scary games rock my socks.
