What can I say...I'm at a point in my life where I'd like to share my accomplishments and challenges with a socially confident, generous and kind companion. I'd really like to find a sweet man with whom I can share the "daily intimacies of life", connect with at the end of a long and productive day, share a glass of wine and a healthy dinner and unwind with...refresh and recharge.
I love my job and am very passionate about what I do, but having a best friend and lover in my life would really help me find the much-needed balance in my life and be very fun. My children are grown and successful and I have a wealth of good friends to go out to dinner with, travel with and host dinner parties for, but I'm missing that special someone with whom I can cuddle and coo, pamper and pet and just hang out with.
I have close knit family of siblings and parents who are still healthy and engaged in the world, and I appreciate the importance of family, tradition and the support that a loving family adds to my life. Not that it's perfect or anything, but it's an always evolving journey of self-discovery to hang out with people who knew you when.
Lately, I've been very interested in wine tasting, but I'm always up for going out dancing (salsa anyone?) hiking in the gorge, travel to Mexico or just to Sylvia Beach Hotel on the coast. I like to window shop on Hawthorne and discover new restaurants along Mississippi Avenue. I love movies and live theatre and would be very impressed if our second date was at the Armory to see a play or even to the ballet with dinner after at Higgins bar. But if you proposed going bowling and for a slice, I'd be up for that too!
My ideal man would be comfortable with all kinds of people - dressing up for the Urban League annual dinner or finding some great BBQ on Alberta in jeans, dropping in at a fundraiser at the Interstate Firehouse for the Center for Intercultural Organizing and equally comfortable at the City Club Friday Forum. (Civic engagement and cultural competency get extra bonus points, as that is my world.)
