Rather than telling you how wonderful I am (or how wonderful my friends say I am), I'll give you a picture of what it would be like being with me, and let you decide whether to connect. I have two daughter 9 and 12. I adore them. It's mutual. They live with their Mom, also in Newton. I am not an absentee dad, as I waited a long time to have them. They are my best work by far. We do fun and creative things together. They are both into theatre, song and dance. Me too. I also like telling jokes and quips. If you are with me at the Deli, as I eat matzo ball soup, you will always hear me ask the waiter if there is "any other part of the matzo you can eat?" You would be amazed at how many think it is a serious question. You'd have to get used to it.

But just as my humor is predictable, so too is my consideration and sensitivity to you. My attention will be the best you've ever had. When you tell me of your struggles, I will probably ask you incisive questions, rather than just give advice. But I am also a great source of ideas. I will let you rant, crow, laugh or cry and will provide comfort, audience or a cheering section.

As for our sharing activities and common interests, some common interests are good but I am not looking for a clone. Besides, I would love to introduce you to new things and learn new things from you. Aren’t you? That’s part of the joy of a new relationship. I haven't reached my quota yet. Never will. Recently, a friend took me to a country western dance hall. The evening started with beginner lessons. Then we danced. Great fun! I love new things. There' so much in this world to learn.
I will tell you stories from my life and enjoy your stories, the old ones and the ones being formed daily. I want to hear yours and want to tell you mine. We will take great interest in the way each of us talks about our life. I will appreciate and admire how you think about things, how you put the puzzle together. And I will love your voice and how you speak and you – mine. This is very underrated in relationship.

To sum it up, I am into the simple pleasures that life provides. I can find enjoyment most anywhere. I don’t need a condo on the Cape to enjoy life. But I do need a special playmate to enjoy it all with, a woman whose style of play complements my own. I am looking for a woman to do all the dances of life with, a compatible partner for work, intimacy, living together, my kids’ stuff, travel, learning new things, tears, laughter, sickness and health, the full catastrophe, as Zorba has said.   Send me a message!
