laziness reigns, so i'll copy this from my other sites:

i am only now coming to the realization that i tend to have a rather profound impact on people. i do not think or act like anyone else i know . . . perhaps not anyone else who ever has or ever will exist. i count this as an asset, even if it does isolate me at times. i believe in the fundamental western ideals of liberty and individualism, and moreover in the fundamental human ideals of common decency and minimal respect for others. i believe this despite the fact that i question many societal norms, standards, and protocol as at best arbitrary and at worst morally destructive. far, far too many people focus in on the latter without ever seeing the former. if you ever choose to misinterpret what i say as malicious or disrespectful, you do not understand who i am.

i can be slightly difficult to understand at times, and i consider myself far too reticent around others. i am working to correct this every day, and i get better at it every day. if ever you have made an attempt to reach out to me and have been met with seeming indifference or nonchalance on my part, please accept my sincere apologies. i either didn't catch the signals or i haven't known how to respond -- but i assure you, it wasn't because i didn't care. i do; i most emphatically do. few things on this earth make me feel better than to know that i am genuinely appreciated.

i am chronologically 22; i am emotionally at least 40. still, i retain a substantial bit of innocence, an innocence which unfortunately has as its corollary a relative lack of experience. i am an intellectual, and i deeply enjoy learning and understanding new things, however trivial or apparently unrelated to reality. i do it well too; i won't bore you with the numbers. (hell, everyone has to toot his own horn once in a while.)

just for fun, i'm vegetarian, atheist, libertarian (though i hate that term), enjoy ambient noise as much as i do JS bach, am a total cat person (though you can keep your dogs), sort of kind of play guitar, am currently a first-year law student, tend to inadvertently use words that no one understands, haven't cut more than the ends off my hair since high school, know at least a few phrases in 10+ languages, still have a few stuffed animals in my room, and have lived in the same house my whole life (well, my PERMANENT residence, anyway).

i want to change the way people think. i'm not sure about just what yet; all life is a process, and i have to finish discovering myself before i can discover my path. that path, i hope, is one that will one day have a deep and inexorable impact on the world around me, if not the world at large. there is nothing i look forward to more than walking along it.   Send me a message!
