I am a 40 something man in search of the female best friend I never had. I'm currently going through a separation and divorce, so I'm totally unprepared for any type of serious relationship beyond friendship.

I guess like anyone else I'm looking for the non-judgemental type of friend; the type one can have a serious, intelligent conversation with or that one can also be silly with. I'm not looking to change anyone, nor wanting anyone to tell me what to change in my life. I am looking for an adult friendship; no more, no less. By the way, I should state here that while I'm no intellectual snob, the ability to hold an intelligent conversation rates pretty high with me. I'm not really into the hip jargon of the day, and it is a definate deal breaker for me if that is all your vocabulary consists of. That doesn't mean I expect total agreement with every idea or belief I have, but I do require intelligent debate and a respectful agreement to disagree if warranted.

I do have a sense of humor. I prefer comedy movies to horror or drama. I can appreciate a good scare now and then however. I can appreciate all types of music, but I do have my favorites. These are blues, jazz, classic rock, bluegrass, and some country.
