I'm restless in thought and often bounce between long conversations and singing something. In song, there's nothing I won't consume - - Summer 2008 is in full swing and I just picked up tickets to Tim McGraw, The Cure, John Mayer, Counting Crows, George Michael - - and I'm still hoping Sarah McLachlan will hit the area!

What else of me? Well, in a nutshell, I am an old soul. I often wonder what happened to the days of having that one person on your mind and in your life instead of 'dating around'--the latter I just won't do.

I'm always a student of the human condition. I love people watching and I frequently dispel advice and/or simply listen to the trials and tribulations of the next person that lays on the virtual couch in front of me. As well, I have a strong interest in, and sometimes get into doing lectures on things like Myers Briggs and Emotional Intelligence. It's all just so fascinating.

I'm athletic and currently bounce between playing flag football and basketball every weekend. I will say that I like watching football and basketball but not if the alternative is spending the day with HER (defined as my daughter or you).

What else defines me?: Introspective, kind, artistic, and free-thinking, a traveler, liberal, non-mechanically inclined. I am ambitious and incredibly focused on what I want -- I make no excuses for anything and have just recently discovered that I have a low tolerance for people who do. I love the motto "Practice Random Kindness and Senseless Acts of Beauty" and find nothing worse in this world than indifference. I will get your bags for you and hold the door, whether you're a man, woman, boy or girl. I am incredibly empathetic and often distracted when I see (or think about) things that make people hurt.

I love children -- I find it incredibly important to be at their level and do not have any pride or machoistic issues with being silly. This surprises people who see me at work because I am so business-like (suit and all) there -- but it doesn't encapsulate who I am in the least.

What else matters to me? My beautiful 5-year old daughter for whom I share custody with. Laughing. The world around me. Good movies. Great lyrics. Shopping (great stress reliever). New York. Writing.

A perfect first date is a quiet setting with a meal and good conversation. See where the other persons mind is walking and find out quickly if you want to go that direction too.

My ideal relationship:
An ideal relationship has full and open communication to the point that both people can say what they mean and mean what they say without worrying about the other's reaction to it. For that matter, they embrace differences in the other person because at the end of the day those differences don't override the sheer joy of seeing or even thinking about that other person. Everything is 100/100 in an ideal relationship and neither person feels (or is made to feel) inferior to the other.

Let's go to New York - - not because we planned it for three weeks but because we feel like eating at Serendipity after a long week at work.
