What to say, what to say? How do I tell you, yes you, all about me in a couple of paragraphs? Should I be earnest? Witty? Sarcastic? I just don't know. I guess I'll go for a mix.
I'm a graduate student and teacher. I love film, theater, music, and literature. I enjoy pretty much any social activity, spending time with friends, drinking, concerts, all that stuff. I try to stay in shape when I'm not swamped grading papers or researching, which I am often or always doing.
I have a dog, a boxer named Lucy, who loves to meet new people, although she will try to eat your shoes if you leave them laying around. I like going out to bars and parties or spending a quiet night at home talking or watching a film. Stimulating conversation on just about any topic is probably my biggest passion, and I love to have a good talk over a nice dinner at home or on the town. Of course, what I find stimulating, you may find tedious. If you give me half a chance, I will bore you to death talking about my research and teaching.
I like to think that I have a good sense of humor, but your mileage may vary. I just try to laugh at the absurdities of life (and at pies thrown in people's faces).
I'm pretty open and honest about myself and my life when I trust someone, and if I respect someone and think that they respect me, there's almost nothing I wouldn't do for them. I like to think that I'm a fun and attractive person, despite the fact that I hate the way I look in pictures. Trust me, I'm better in person, the camera just has a knack for making me look like an idiot.
As for what I'm looking for, just some cool, fun, and interesting people. I like people who are assertive and confident but not arrogant; intellectual but not snobs; mature and honest but don't take themselves too seriously and are ready to have fun and get crazy when the time is right. I really want to meet someone with whom I can joke around and have fun with as well as someone with whom I can have stimulating and meaningful discussions.
As for looks, I don't really have a "type." Race is unimportant to me, as are inconsequential things like hair color/length, height, etc. There's also no one body type that I like; athletic, slim, curvy, whatever. It all comes down to how you carry yourself, and the type of person you are. Send me a message!
