Why do we bother to complete one description after another over and over? I'm sure that by now that I could fill a novel detailing all of my experiences, both past and present, about the various mixed signals, missed connections, failed opportunities and, simple wastes of time.
I'd be disingenuous if I said I'm not beginning to loose faith in the prospect of finding my "one and only" but still, I hold out in the hope that someday, she will appear and we will ride off together, into the sunset of our happily ever after.
Generally speaking, however, I'm quite optimistic about my chances. I realize that this isn't a race and the selection process can be grueling (from both my perspective and that of my potential partner -hey, I'm realistic enough to know that I have to sell myself here and in so doing, I realize that there are a lot of women out there that will simply say, "No thanks. Not interested". I'm o.k. with that. Really. In that regard, I'm much more self-confident than a lot of men.
So I guess the bottom line for me is, simply, that the search continues and I soldier on, hoping that one of these days, I won't have to resort to dating websites that promise the moon and stars, but often fail to deliver.
Either way, the journey has been interesting and should should continue to offer many indelible experiences -I just hope that they eventually lead me to a final destination.
